All about THE SUGAR PATCH

My name is Ashley Bagwell, and I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 15 in 1983.  Yep, that was a long time ago!  After over 25 years of multiple daily injections of insulin, and testing blood sugar levels with a meter all day long, I decided it was time to make the leap into diabetes technology and get an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor (CGM).  Wow!  These two items have changed my life...for the better!  

In 2015, I realized that we need better adhesive to keep these things attached, saving us money, and saving us from having some real issues when they do come off unexpectedly.  I also realized that I don't always want my pump or CGM to look so "medical".  The research to find the best adhesive patch began.  Speaking with many of my Diabuddies online, I learned that some of us have allergies, so my product needed to be hypoallergenic.  We also want to be able to bathe, swim, and play out in the heat of Summer without them falling off.  We want our patches to look good, and show our individual personalities in the designs.  We don't want them to peel up or fray around the edges.  We sure are picky!  Why not? We deserve the best!  This is why I created The Sugar Patch(es) with a proprietary Medical Grade Hypoallergenic Tape.  It is easy to apply, breathable, lightweight, and comfortable to wear.
