As a small family‑owned and operated business, we balance our time between our own family and our Sugar Patch family — each of you. This has been one of the hardest weeks of my life. As many of you saw in a previous post, Mr. Al underwent major surgery and has faced several complications. I’ve been spending as much time as possible with him in the ICU while still coming home to make patches and fill orders. Because of everything happening, we are running a few days behind on production and shipping. I want to be fair and honest with you all: I really need to focus on being with Mr. Al right now. Yesterday was our 19th wedding anniversary, and we spent it sharing hospital food — and honestly, it was the best meal ever simply because I was with him. I didn’t want to close the shop, but I need to pause things for a few days. Orders already placed are still being worked on by my amazing assistant, Keilee, but I don’t want us to fall so far behind that it becomes overwhelming for either of us.
