✅ The Sugar Patch™–Specific Benefits
How to Apply Our Patches
Overlay Patches: Use an alcohol swab or soap and water to clean the skin of any dirt, oils and lotions. Allow skin to dry. Gently peel the patch away from the backing and center it over your device, pressing the tape down firmly around the edges to ensure adhesion to the sensor, pod or infusion set tape, and skin.Â
Overlays with cut-outs: The overlays are for sensors, pods, and infusion sets, and will have a hole that will allow the overlay to fit snugly around the sensor, pod, or infusion site. The center piece (cut-out) can be applied to the top of the sensor or pod to complete the aesthetic design of the patch. These patches are specifically designed to work with a GripShield™ for each specific device from Deck My Diabetes.
SugarShield™ adhesive patches: These are applied directly to clean dry skin where you would want to attach the SugarShield™ Case (SOLD SEPARATELY) for your Tandem Mobi™ insulin pump or Sequel Med Tech Twiist™ insulin pump. After applying the patch, remove the paper liner from the adhesive on top center of the patch and attach your SugarShield™ case. The SugarShield™ wearable cases are made by Deck My Diabetes. Â
Avoid getting the patch wet for 4 hours after applying it. After bathing or swimming, be sure to thoroughly dry the patch and sensor site using a clean towel or blow dryer on low heat. Should the edges of the patch ever begin to lift, using a blow dryer on low heat will reactivate the adhesive, and you should be able to press the edges back down to the skin.
