Use permanent fabric markers or fabric paint pens to color your overlays. Allow ink/paint to set into the overlay for at least 6 hours before applying to skin. Children should be supervised when using permanent markers.

The Sugar Patch™ overlays will last longer when the following application process is followed.
Before applying your pod, use an alcohol swab or non-oily soap and water to clean the skin where your pod will be located. Be sure that the skin under and around the application site is dry, and avoid using lotions, oils or powders near the pod or patches.
Apply your pod by following the instructions provided by your doctor, or diabetes trainer. To apply the overlay, use the pad of your finger to gently lift the edge of the patch away from the backing. Center the cut-out (hole) on the patch over the pod and onto the skin. Adjustments to the patch can be made before the overlay has been pressed down to the skin. The center piece that has been cut-out can be applied to the top of your pod to complete the patch design (If you are using a GripShield™, you may want to do this before applying the overlay and GripShield™ for a cleaner look). Using a blow dryer on low heat after applying the overlay will help to seal the adhesive to the skin.
Avoid getting the patch wet for 4 hours after applying it. After bathing or swimming, be sure to thoroughly dry the patch and pod site using a clean towel or blow dryer on low heat. Should the edges of the patch ever begin to lift, using a blow dryer on low heat will reactivate the adhesive, and you should be able to press the edges back down to the skin.
